Kit Cards

This afternoon I spent a happy few hours in my Crafty Corner :)  I made a card for my sister who is moving out of her flat and out of Hertfordshire to live with her boyfriend in Essex.  I'm sure that she will be very busy organising the move and won't get a chance to peep at her big sister's blog, but just in case, I won't show you that one yet!

Having spent a couple of hours on afore mentioned card, I was flagging a little bit so I decided to have a play with a card kit that I bought recently in TK Maxx.  I have never bought a card kit before!  The first one I decided to make was this one:

In the kit, the dog tooth check paper was folded in half to form the actual card, but as it felt quite flimsy I decided to use one of my own card blanks and stick half the paper to the card instead.  Then, as I had two pieces, I thought it might be fun to try and make another card from the bits I had to hand ...

On reflection, I think I prefer the kit one, but if you don't compare the two, then the second one is perfectly fine and I shall pop it in my box to use when an appropriate birthday arises!  Wondering if I will be able to double up on any of the other cards in the kit ...

  2. I agree, both are great, and I think it's a great idea to stretch your supplies like that, very thrifty! I'm loving the colours and the houndstooth, so pretty!

I've been thinking about getting a Cuttlebug for a while (won some embossing folders before Christmas) so it's nice to hear a rave review from a friend. It's definitely on my wish list. Hmmm, my anniversary's not too far away... Have a great day in (sunny) England! Hugs, Roxy.
