At last a free weekend to catch up on Christmas jobs (and not before time!), and do lots of jobs we did!!!
Not your traditional booze soaked Christmas cake, but something altogether lighter but still very delicious! I am delighted to say that the cake does now have it's marzipan layer but not yet the icing :/ oh well, it'll get done!

Hi Carole, your cake looks lovely, is it the Christmas cake recipe I gave you, it sounds like it, and looks very much like it too? I hope so, you won't be disapointed if it is, it's just scrummy!
ReplyDeleteI made two myself last night, also made the marzipan, which is yummy :) so just waiting to add the icing and decorate today, that's the fun part :)
We plan to keep one for us, but will be spending boxing day with Kevin's family so will decorate the other one, and bring along with all the gifts :)
I hope to take pics and blog later.
I might try whipping up a couple more as extra thank yous for people who have helped us through the year, such as the person who looked after Barney for us, whilst we went away earlier in the year, we shall see, if I have enough cake making energy left, as I still have to wrap all the pressies yet, lol!
I loved your decorated cake from last year, would love to try making those little robbins, if you don't mind that is, they were just soooooo cute!
Hope all is well in your house, not sure if at any time you have tried contacting me via e-mail, but just to let you know, I lost e-mail about a month ago, problems with sky, grrrr! and with all the house problems and Christmas have not had the time to try sorting it out, but will do very soon, just thought I'd let you know.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas

The photo of the cake looks fabulous with this patterned paper, really pops! Hope it tastes as good as it looks! Hugs, Roxy.
